Man shot in Sangre Grande

A 32-year-old man is currently warded in a serious condition at the Sangre Grande District Hospital, after being shot on Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as Victor Timothy of Robinson Lane, Sangre Grande.

According to police reports, around 9.30 am on Tuesday, police received information that Timothy had been shot to the abdomen near his home, and had been rushed to the hospital.


Officers of the Eastern Division responded, and were told that three masked men were seen leaving the area shortly after the shooting was reported.

A total of 22 spent shells were recovered at the scene by crime scene investigators, leading police to believe that Timothy was indeed the target of the assailants.

However, police have no motive.

Timothy is yet to give a statement as he was heavily sedated up to early Wednesday.

Sgt Edwards is continuing inquiries.
