'Hot Dog’ to appear in court for gun and ammo possession

A Trincity man is expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate next Monday charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Jamal Walcott aka ‘Hot Dog’, a 23-year-old of West Dinsley Gardens, Trincity, was arrested by officers of the Northern Division Task Force Area Central, during an anti-crime exercise in the Arouca district on Tuesday 13 June.

The exercise took place between 12 pm and 6 pm and was supervised by ASP (Ag.) Mervin Edwards and Sgt. Ishmael Pitt. During the exercise, officers observed a man behaving suspiciously along 9th Street, Dinsley Gardens. The man attempted to escape but was held a short distance away. A search resulted in officers discovering one Tangfolio pistol, loaded with a magazine containing 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
