'Goat' caught with gun in St James

A 39-year-old man is currently being questioned by police after he was held with a loaded firearm on Thursday morning.

The suspect, who goes by the alias “GOAT” was held  at his home at Providence Estate, Upper Bournes Road, St James

According to police reports, at about 1.30 am Thursday, officers of the Western Division Task Force, received key intelligence which led them to the suspect’s home.

The building was searched and the officers found and seized a .45 calibre pistol and 24 rounds of ammunition.

As a result, the 39-year-old man was immediately detained and taken into custody.

He is expected to be charged today and brought before a Port of Spain Magistrate tomorrow.

PC McClean is continuing inquiries.

The Task Force officers involved in this exercise also comprised of Sgt Arneaud, Acting Corporal Dominique, PC Gilkes, PC St. John, and PC Sahadath.

They were all supervised by head of the Western Division, Snr Sup Sankar.
