If you’re looking for a Carnival food experience with an extra touch of class, Pêche Pâtisserie’s debut Carnival event, Cocktails, Canapés & Soca is not one to miss.
Cocktails, Canapés & Soca is a collaboration with Pêche Pâtisserie and Arief Rafeeq and the team of Premier Events, which is associated with LUXX, PRIME, and Jamboree Events.
Speaking with Loop, Rafeeq and Chef Khalil Ali, owner of Pêche, explained that the idea to throw a Carnival fete came off of the success of a similar event that was hosted last October at the restaurant, Cocktails & Canapés.
The feedback was tremendous and the team wanted to take it to another level but understood that going forward, space might be a problem.
“If this was so successful and we can’t hold enough people upstairs, why not throw a fete?” Ali said.
With that in mind, the event will be hosted at the newly renovated poolside at the Trinidad Hilton.
“This is a very unique event. We want to turn around the style of the all-inclusive concept, not just by offering drinks but signature cocktails like sangrias and mimosas,” Rafeeq said.
However, it’s the food that will be the star attraction of the event.
Against the backdrop of the ultra chic decor of Hilton’s poolside, guests can look forward to a delectable array of canapés including shrimp tempura with fiesta salad; escargots; chicken pesto mousse; smoked salmon vol en vont; Philly cheesesteak sliders; turkey roulade; and tandoori lamb balls, to name a few.

Some of Ali’s items like the tuna wakame ensalada have been influenced by Chef Tak of Basho Restaurant, the protégé of the world-renowned Japanese restaurant, Nobu.
The specialty event’s posh ambiance is set to match the quality of the food, something both Ali and Rafeeq have painstakingly worked on to ensure that guests get value for money.
Top DJs including DJ Private Ryan, Nuphoric will keep the Carnival vibe high and a surprise soca artist is set to perform.
Cocktails, Canapés & Soca will be held at the Trinidad Hilton Poolside on Saturday, January 19.
Tickets are priced at $650 and can be purchased through one of their committee members or by contacting their hotline number at 383-3229.
