HOUSING Minister Edmund Dillon today supported the ongoing efforts by Commissioner of Police (CoP) Gary Griffith and National Security Minister Stuart Young to reduce crime.
Despite the country recording 500 murders for the year, Dillon said, “I’m seeing an aggressive continuation of policies taking place.”
He said Griffith and Young “are doing their work together.”
Young replaced Dillon in a Cabinet reshuffle on August 5. Griffith was appointed CoP on August 6. Dillon explained, “At the end of the day, anybody charged with those responsibilities, whether you are the minister or the CoP, your remit is to deal with crime, criminality and violence in TT.”
He added that he and former CoP Stephen Williams did the jobs that were required of them.
