Cops capture 'well known' bandit

A 23-year-old man who is wanted in connection with several robberies across the country, is now in police custody after he was held with a loaded pistol this morning in Beetham.

According to reports, around 12.45 am officers of the Inter Agency Task Force were conducting mobile patrols in the Beetham Gardens community, when they observed a Black Nissan B14 parked along Main Street.

The two occupants of the car began to act suspiciously on seeing the officers, and as a result they were confronted.

A search was conducted and the officers allegedly found and seized a Glock 17 pistol loaded with 15  rounds of 9mm ammunition.

As a result, both men were arrested, and are to be questioned.

However, one of the men was said to be “well known” to the police as a suspect in a series of robberies in the Port of Spain, Western, and North Eastern Divisions.
