Two persons were arrested and a firearm and quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Freeport Police Station, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Couva on Saturday.
According to a statement issued by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), officers carried out a police exercise between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, on February 16, 2019, during which they executed a search warrant at a house at Mc Bean Village, Couva house.
During the search, officers discovered one gun loaded with a magazine, containing three rounds of ammunition.
A man and a woman, who were in the house at the time of the exercise, were arrested in connection with the find.
In a separate incident, officers proceeded to Enterprise, Chaguanas, where they conducted a search at Dass Branch Trace, which resulted in a revolver and one spent shell being recovered.
Investigations are ongoing.
